Assistant Manager

We have a great opportunity in Guernsey and looking for an Assistant Manager to join our Private Client Team.

The successful candidate will administer a complex and varied portfolio of clients and provide support to the Manager and Team.

What will you do?

Client Service

  • Deliver the highest level of client service in line with our Group behaviours.

  • Provide support and assist with the administration of client entities administered by the Team.

  • Act as an effective member of the fiduciary team and assist the Manager with meeting business, financial and operational initiatives and projects.

    Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Liaise with the team members and all teams within the Guernsey office.

  • Build effective relationships.

  • Deputise for the team Manager in their absence.

  • Provide technical support to other members of the team.

    Commercial Focused

  • Develop working relationships with clients, intermediaries and internal contacts to maximise client retention and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Assist the team and Manager, as required, with all matters relating to the billing of client entities and monitoring of outstanding debtors.

  • Proactively contribute to the team objectives.

    Managing Risk

  • Ensure compliant with applicable laws, service standards, company policies and procedures and agreed operational and control processes.

  • Use own judgement to identify concerns and risks and that they are reported to the Manager / Client Services Director in a timely and effective manner.

    What do you need to succeed?


  • Good understanding of the relevant laws relating to ‘Trust Company Business’ in the role location.

  • Good understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a Fiduciary Business.

  • Good understanding of industry best practice in relation to Trust and Company administration.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication and build client relations.

  • Good numeracy skills and ability to understand Trust and Company legal documents.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Significant experience in a Fiduciary environment required.

  • Holds a relevant professional qualification

    ICSA Certificate in Offshore Finance & Administration

    Or Certificate in Offshore Administration

    Or STEP Foundation Certificate in Offshore Trust

    Nice to have

  • Knowledge of other related jurisdictions laws in relation to ‘Trust Company Business’.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Outlook and Word.

  • Some experience in a supervisory role.

  • A good understanding of the principles of taxation affecting Trust and Corporate Structures.
