BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Islands Insurance is one of the leading insurance brokers in the Channel Islands, serving a wide range
of individual and corporate clients. We have over 50,000 customers and more than 120 employees
based in offices in Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney. There are exciting plans to grow and develop the
business, and we are seeking a forward thinking, driven, engaging and positive Business Development
Director to lead and drive all Sales and Business Development activity in Guernsey and to develop
our range of insurance propositions and products. This is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting
business that is going through a period of growth and rapid change.
This is a key role reporting to the Group Sales & Marketing Director. The post-holder will be a Director of
the Guernsey trading company, and will be expected to deliver results in line with strategic objectives.
To be considered,you should have extensive experience of driving General Insurance sales activity through
a team and of building,managing and developing successful relationships with suppliers,customers and
colleagues. You should also be able to demonstrate expertise and qualities in the following areas:
• Development and delivery of sales plans across a
variety of distribution channels including support for
the other brokers that work with Islands
• Leadership,management and development of team
members, driving a customer centric sales culture
• Ensuring a range of propositions, products and
insurance solutions are available to clients
• A high energy, self motivated, enthusiastic and
inspiring individual with exceptional networking skills
• Analysing, interpreting, reporting and acting on
performance and financial data to ensure delivery of
targets and objectives
• Excellent interpersonal,communication, presentation
and influencing skills
• A track record of leading, coaching, training and
developing high performance teams
• A relevant professional qualification (or substantial
progress towards this) is desirable
