Our client, a highly reputable leading name in private banking in Guernsey, is seeking to appoint a Manager in their Financial Risk Department to assist and support the CRO with the reporting and monitoring of all financial risks, such as credit, market and investment risk, in accordance with company policy.

Responsibilities will include the day to day management of financial risk covering areas such as credit risk management, investment, market and regulatory risk, monitoring, control and reporting. The successful applicant will ensure appropriate level of oversights pertaining to the credit portfolio and will develop and maintain suitable management information. You will also be responsible for conducting reviews of business line credit policy, ensuring compliance and will discuss credit proposals with private lending and relationship management in relation to structuring and suitability. You will also support the CRO in the development of the Local Risk Appetite statements and delivery of the enterprise risk management on a quarterly basis.

The successful applicant will be a self-motivated individual who although highly team focussed can also work independently when required. You will be able and confident to work with senior management and communicate ideas clearly both verbally and in writing. Other desirable attributes are the ability to work under pressure, knowledge of credit structures, a wider knowledge of investments and treasury operations, strong decision making ability and practical experience of all aspects of financial risk management.

It is preferred that applicants will hold or be studying towards a relevant professional banking qualification e.g. ACIB/ALIBF and/or a relevant risk management qualification e.g. GARP FRM. CeMAP or DipMAP in mortgage advice practice would also be desirable.
