Our client is seeking an Assistant Director to join their Financial Crime Division. This full-time role involves supervising firms under the Bailiwick’s financial crime regime, with a focus on those presenting higher risks of money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing. The role is based in Guernsey and offers an opportunity to contribute to the development and enforcement of policies and procedures within the financial services sector, ensuring compliance with international standards. Click here to read more. Job Duties: Deliver high-quality prudential, financial crime, and conduct regulation within the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Assist in protecting and enhancing the Bailiwick’s international reputation in the financial services sector. Support the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard, formulating plans to achieve business objectives and addressing potential issues proactively. Oversee the activities of the functional team, ensuring high-quality output and effective workload management. Provide guidance and support to staff, including training and development, performance appraisals, and constructive feedback. Plan and coordinate financial crime risk-driven on-site inspections and participate in ad-hoc inspections as needed. Review inspection scopes, post-inspection reports, and proposed risk mitigation programmes. Identify industry-wide themes from inspections and communicate them accordingly. Contribute to policy development, including liaising with industry representatives and government authorities. Represent the organisation both internationally and locally, including conducting training and workshops.   Job Requirements: Experience in financial services or a similar environment. Knowledge of the Handbook on Countering Financial Crime (AML/CFT/CPF). Strong report writing skills and ability to produce high-quality documentation. Ability to manage and influence teams, providing leadership and support. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
