Our client is seeking a Personal Insurance Underwriter to support the delivery of sustainable, profitable growth by working with the underwriting team. This role will focus on servicing both new and existing clients in accordance with industry, supplier, and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will review and evaluate personal lines insurance risks, negotiating policy terms in line with agreed underwriting principles and standards. Job Duties: Analyse and evaluate risks, proposing and negotiating policy terms, including appropriate limitations and endorsements, to align with the risk appetite and profitability objectives. Collaborate with the underwriting team to service general insurance products, ensuring compliance with sales quality standards and regulatory requirements. Review, evaluate, and process the portfolio of existing clients, maintaining service and underwriting performance targets while enhancing the reputation for excellent service. Liaise with underwriters to secure appropriate policy cover and terms in a compliant and timely manner that meets client needs. Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues across the business, claims, brokers, and other capacity providers to ensure the delivery of first-class customer service. Continually develop knowledge and skills to professionally and efficiently service both new and existing clients. Deliver short-term projects and activities as required, adhering to agreed standards and outcomes. Act as a coach and escalation point for colleagues on complex risks, technical, and customer service matters to support decision-making.   Job Requirements: Proven ability to work effectively within a team and to improve team effectiveness. Demonstrates dependability, taking responsibility for delivering high-quality customer service while meeting challenges and performing at a high level. Extensive knowledge of the general insurance market, particularly in underwriting roles or those with underwriting authority. A focus on customer satisfaction, meeting both internal and external customer expectations with high-quality service. Excellent personal effectiveness, including time management and the ability to organise workload and meet deadlines. Capability to deliver results by challenging conventional thinking, managing risks, and embracing change initiatives. Dip CII qualification is desirable.
