Our client is seeking a Payables Finance Clerk to join their Finance department in Guernsey on a full-time basis. This role supports the Payables Finance Officer in ensuring that accurate financial and management accounting records of the airline's expenditure are maintained. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing purchase orders, reconciling supplier statements, monitoring invoice payments, and supporting the wider finance team with month-end reconciliations and reporting. Click here to read more Job Duties:  Coordinate with department managers to obtain approval for supplier purchase orders. Resolve issues with purchase orders to ensure compliance with procurement processes and controls. Match purchase orders to supplier invoices in the Sage accounting system to prepare them for payment. Reconcile supplier statements and address queries with suppliers. Track the status of invoices to ensure payment deadlines are met. Raise payments for approved invoices in a timely manner. Actively review and manage creditor accounts to ensure accuracy. Process passenger claim refunds as directed by the Commercial team. Provide balanced reconciliations for control accounts at month-end. Maintain and document procedures to support internal controls. Assist the Financial Accountant with audit requirements and other relevant duties. Job Requirements:  Experience in Credit Control and Payables Ledger roles. Proficient in using SAGE 200 or similar accounting systems. Familiarity with Purchase Order processing systems. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work proactively, meet deadlines, and work independently. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Flexible approach to working hours as required. Experience in the aviation sector or high-volume FMCG environments (not essential). Experience in the payables section of a finance function. Knowledge of airline business and accounting requirements. Understanding of the Channel Islands economy. Bookkeeping or accounting-related qualification is an advantage. Level 2 or 3 qualifications (GCSE/BTEC/A-level or equivalent). Commitment to continuous professional development. Ability to complete GSAT security training and obtain an airside pass (five-year work history required). A current police check will be required.
