Our client is seeking a dedicated Management Accountant to join their Finance team. This full-time role, based in Guernsey, reports directly to the Head of Department: Finance. (The role is responsible for preparing management information, delivering reporting schedules, and collaborating with various teams to provide financial insights in line with the business’s strategic goals. The successful candidate will oversee accounting aspects, manage procurement systems, and support the business with accurate and timely financial reporting. Click here to read more Job Duties:  Oversee all management accounting aspects related to revenue recognition and payables reporting, in collaboration with the Financial Accountant. Implement and maintain a procurement management system and drive adherence across the business. Facilitate the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts. Provide daily cashflow reports to Head of Department: Finance with a rolling forecast. Support the advancement of department technology to enhance the quality and value of management information. Prepare any additional management reports as required by the business. Authorise bank payments as part of the team of approvers. Oversee day-to-day operations of the Revenue Officer, Accounts Payable Officer, and their teams. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly management accounts, providing insights that add value to the business. Assist Head of Department: Finance in cashflow forecasting and capital expenditure planning to align with strategic objectives. Develop strong working relationships across the business to foster a collaborative and transparent work environment. Provide ongoing support and guidance to direct reports within the finance team and aid in their professional development. Job Requirements:  Knowledge of management and financial accounting techniques with the capability to support the provision of timely financial reports. Experience in working within the accounting function from trial-balance through to published management or financial results. Highly numerate, demonstrating the required technical ability. Strong appreciation of the effective use of IT in business, with proficiency in accounting software such as SAGE or similar, and Microsoft packages. Attention to detail and the ability to work with confidential information. Strong organisational and time management skills. Experience in aviation or high-volume FMCG environments is desirable but not essential. Knowledge and understanding of airline business and accounting requirements is a plus. Knowledge and understanding of the Channel Islands economy is advantageous. Accounting certifications (ACA, ACMA, ACCA, or equivalent) are required or actively training for them. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as business management or business administration is preferred. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with accounting best practices. Ability to successfully complete GSAT security training and obtain an appropriate airside pass. A current police check will be required.
