Our client is seeking a Technical Specialist to join their Investment, Fiduciary, and Pension division. The role will involve ensuring the delivery of high-quality prudential, financial crime, and conduct regulation within the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The successful candidate will assist in protecting and enhancing the Bailiwick’s international reputation in the financial services sector and will help to promote a regulatory environment that encourages good business practices. Click here to read more   Job Duties: Working to ensure the delivery of high-quality prudential, financial crime, and conduct regulation within the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Assisting in protecting and enhancing the Bailiwick’s international reputation within the financial services sector. Helping to facilitate innovation and discourage poor-quality ventures. Assisting with delivering PRISM risk-based supervision, enforcement, and policy creation. Implementing the Balanced Scorecard and formulating plans to achieve business objectives. Being involved in the consideration of difficult regulatory cases, including enforcement measures. Advising and assisting with the handling of applications for licenses, products, and exemptions. Day-to-day supervision of notifications and submissions made by licensees under the law. Assisting with reactive low-impact supervision and management of the Work in Progress (WIP). Leading aspects of on-site supervision, including planning and coordinating visits, ISRs, and thematic reviews. Reviewing post-visit feedback and following up on matters raised. Leading visits and considering findings with the Division management team to adjust the on-site programme as necessary. Communicating clearly, concisely, and accurately, tailoring communication to the audience. Investigating and responding to complaints about licensees/applicants in cooperation with other teams. Attending and chairing meetings in a professional manner. Representing the Commission in both local and international capacities, including conducting training and workshops. Liaising with staff across divisions to foster a culture of open communication. Leading internal projects and initiatives, including reviews of procedures and supervisory processes. Continuously updating professional and technical knowledge, keeping up to date with industry developments. Supporting staff development by providing advice and guidance. Inspiring individuals in the team to take ownership of business goals. Sitting as a member of Risk Governance Panels. Representing the Commission at training courses, conferences, and seminars. Making recommendations for system improvements and assisting in the implementation of changes.   Job Requirements: Proven experience in prudential, financial crime, and conduct regulation. Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to manage regulatory actions and cases. Experience with licensing, products, and exemptions, as well as supervising submissions and notifications. Ability to manage and allocate work in progress (WIP) efficiently. Strong communication skills, with experience in handling complaints, meetings, and public relations. Experience in leading visits and reviews, both on-site and remotely. Ability to represent the Commission in official capacities and liaise effectively with stakeholders. Professional excellence with a commitment to continuous development. Strong decision-making ability and pragmatic approach to leadership. Experience in leading internal projects and contributing to system improvements. Experience working with senior staff across divisions to enhance organisational culture.
