Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to cover a 9-month maternity leave, starting in April 2025, with a handover period included. This is a full-time role, but part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate. The position involves managing a wide range of HR and office administrative duties to ensure continuity in recruitment, employee lifecycle management, employee relations, training, performance management, and HR strategy. The role also includes overseeing the general running of the Guernsey office and supporting the Directors and Managing Director. Job Duties: Lead recruitment and selection processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding. Manage employee offboarding and analyse exit interview data. Support performance management, development plans, and career progression initiatives. Coordinate and administer mandatory training and employee benefit schemes (e.g., healthcare, pension, life assurance). Maintain and update employee records in the HR system, managing absence, holidays, and employment details. Assist with monthly payroll data input alongside the Finance team. Provide advice and support to management on HR-related issues and employee relations, including disciplinaries and grievances. Promote staff wellbeing and foster a positive working environment. Stay up to date with employment legislation and statutory requirements. Prepare HR summaries for quarterly board meetings and assist in implementing HR strategies. Oversee office management tasks, including liaising with external partners, ensuring stock levels, and maintaining Health and Safety compliance. Support ad-hoc HR and administrative projects as required.   Job Requirements: 3-5 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, preferably within the Finance sector. Relevant professional qualification in human resource management or business-related degree; a CIPD qualification is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing. Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and improve efficiency. High attention to detail and accuracy in all work. Proven ability to build strong relationships internally and externally. Proactive and capable of working both independently and collaboratively. Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills. Proven ability to handle confidential matters and adhere to data protection regulations. Flexible and willing to adjust working hours as needed to meet team and business needs.
