Our client is seeking a Financial Controller to take ownership of the daily financial administration of their marine business based in Guernsey. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth financial operation of the company, with responsibilities ranging from bookkeeping and credit control to preparing management information and budgets. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, providing financial support for special projects and contributing to strategic planning.  Job Duties:  Deliver high-quality financial administration, ensuring all deadlines are met. Perform bookkeeping, including managing Kudos export processes to Sage. Reconcile bank statements and oversee cash management. Manage credit control and purchase ledger administration. Process month-end procedures and produce quarterly management reports for board meetings. Prepare annual budgets and cash flow forecasts. Attend and contribute to informal bi-weekly and formal quarterly senior leadership meetings. Support special projects, such as rolling and annual stock takes, data remediation, and discount matrix reviews. Assist with year-end account preparation (currently outsourced). Collect monthly timesheets and update HR records. Process monthly payroll, including pension administration. Conduct special financial reviews and projects as per annual objectives. Maintain and develop knowledge of relevant financial matters, such as taxation and accounting standards. Liaise with stakeholders, suppliers, and customers as required. Ensure all documentation, correspondence, and calls are handled efficiently and accurately. Perform other duties as reasonably required. Job Requirements:  Experience in financial administration or a related role. Proficiency in bookkeeping and financial reconciliation. Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes. Knowledge of accounting standards and practices. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
