Our client is looking for an experienced Broker/Underwriter to join their team at the Guernsey office. This role involves providing quotations for new business and renewals, assisting the Branch, and acting as a referral point for the Assistants. The role requires strong communication and negotiation skills to ensure client retention and maximise sales targets, while adhering to underwriting authority limits and procedural guidelines.   Job Duties: Provide excellent customer service for new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and other client interactions. Understand the processes and procedures for quoting and recommending suitable products to meet clients’ needs. Ensure all product information is clear, fair, and not misleading, enabling clients to make informed decisions. Calculate premiums for new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments in line with carrier risk appetite and guidelines. Liaise with insurers for non-delegated authority business. Handle telephone calls promptly and efficiently, maintaining thorough records of customer interactions. Address queries via email, telephone, and in person, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Serve as a referral point within the branch, offering guidance and support to junior team members. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including treating customers fairly and ensuring contract certainty.   Job Requirements: Competency in Windows-based programmes: Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Positive can-do attitude and strong team ethic. Effective time management and ability to work under pressure. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. High degree of accuracy in completing tasks. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. A deep understanding of insurance principles, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of Clegg Gifford's product range, including coverage provisions, exclusions, and policy conditions.
