Our client is seeking a Temporary Accountant to join their finance team on a 3 to 6 months period in Guernsey. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role will support the financial management and reporting of the organisation’s Guernsey-based entities. Responsibilities will include maintaining financial records, producing management accounts, client billing, cash management, budgeting, and supporting the annual audit process. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to contribute to a dynamic finance function. Job Duties: Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, transaction processing, and accounting. Maintain accurate accounting records, ensuring reconciliation of bank accounts and ledger items. Manage debtors, accruals, prepayments, and maintain the fixed asset register. Prepare weekly aged debtors reconciliations and cashflow projections. Produce monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/UK GAAP. Manage client billing, sales ledgers, and fee collections using Viewpoint. Oversee supplier payments and ensure cost accuracy in line with contracts. Generate and analyse financial reports, including asset statements and solvency tests. Assist in the budgeting process and preparation of regulatory financial reports. Provide support for the annual financial audit and other regulatory checks. Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory frameworks. Undertake general administrative tasks and collaborate with colleagues across jurisdictions. Job Requirements: Holds or is studying towards AAT, ACA, ACCA, or another accounting qualification. Minimum of three years’ accounting experience. Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial regulations, and VAT reporting. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage priorities effectively. Proactive and flexible approach to work with excellent problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy and competence in bookkeeping and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management software. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
