Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Executive to join their team in Guernsey. Reporting to the Office Managing Partners for Guernsey and the Channel Islands Head of Finance, this role focuses on supporting a range of financial tasks, with a primary responsibility for month-end postings, preparing financial reports, and working closely with various departments and external auditors. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic communicator with strong finance knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and keen attention to detail. Job Duties: Oversee month-end processes and ensure all Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed Assist in preparing Annual Financial Statements and manage the annual audit process Prepare partnership and company tax returns for Guernsey entities, including reconciliations Maintain an up-to-date authorised signatory list and bank mandate for Guernsey entities Manage the accounts payable function, ensuring invoices are appropriately authorised Oversee office cash flow management, ensuring excess funds are placed in appropriate term deposits Manage the workload of the finance team in Guernsey Conduct frequent reviews of Work in Progress reports with Office Managing Partners Oversee and manage the Guernsey budget process within the global timescale, including discussions with stakeholders to agree plans and costs Liaise with Office Managing Partners and Channel Islands Head of Finance on regular and ad hoc requests Update Finance Reporting Presentation Graphs and PowerPoint slides for the Monthly Partners meeting Ensure feedback reporting against budget is undertaken for Business Support stakeholders quarterly Prepare and submit information to the Island Statistics Office Prepare and post the payroll journal Review all bank reconciliations and resolve any differences in a timely manner Ensure independent validation of bank statements exists Reconcile the Personnel Creditor control accounts Update bad debt provision schedules and post bad debt provision journals Update the fixed asset register and post depreciation journals Reconcile intercompany accounts and post intercompany journals from other offices Update prepayment schedules, prepare and post prepayment journals Update accruals schedules, prepare and post accruals journals Review Client Monies reconciliations Job Requirements: Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA or ACA) with at least 5 years post-qualified experience Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong day-to-day management skills for the finance function and team Tact and diplomacy for dealing with confidential matters Ability to manage a complex and demanding workload and meet performance targets Clear, effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with people at all levels Proficient in using and updating computerised systems with a genuine interest in developing IT skills Ability to critically evaluate systems of work, promote new ideas, and actively contribute to service improvements Flexibility and responsiveness to changing circumstances and emergency situations Strong spreadsheet skills, organisational and critical thinking abilities Customer service-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet competing deadlines Experience in managing and developing a team Aderant knowledge is desirable Ability to occasionally work outside normal working hours/days when required What You’ll Love:Our client offers an exciting opportunity for growth within a dynamic environment.
