Back to ResultsOur client is seeking an Audit Trainee to assist in the planning and administration of audit assignments. This role is suitable for individuals considering a career in accountancy, whether they are graduates, individuals making a career change, or those undertaking professional qualifications. The successful candidate will support the completion of audit engagements to a high standard, ensuring compliance with ethical and professional standards while delivering effective client service. Job Duties: Assist in conducting audit engagements under supervision, including pre-audit scoping, identifying audit risks, and assessing internal control structures. Support audit planning procedures, performing audit tests using the firm’s methodology and highlighting key issues. Complete allocated tasks to a high standard, ensuring compliance with reporting and auditing standards. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and review client-prepared financial statements to develop accounting knowledge. Monitor work in progress (WIP) and contribute to departmental billing. Develop confidence in client interactions and gain exposure to more complex engagements. Act as an ambassador for the firm, building relationships and promoting services to support client retention and business growth. Job Requirements: Understanding of the role and function of audit for a range of entities, particularly financial services clients. Willingness to develop technical knowledge of accounting and audit regulations. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach. Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, and organisational skills. Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Windows software and accounting systems. 112 UCAS points, a 2:1 degree (or equivalent). No prior experience required but must be willing to undertake a relevant accounting qualification.
