Back to ResultsOur client is seeking a Part-Time Receptionist / Office Administrator to join their team at a busy town surgery. This role involves providing front-line reception support and office administration duties to ensure the smooth operation of the practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting patients, handling appointments, and supporting administrative functions within the surgery. Flexibility is required to provide cover during staff absences. Job Duties: Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately. Greet and assist patients, directing them to consultation rooms as required. Schedule patient appointments using the in-house computer system. Process payments from patients and maintain accurate billing records. Handle patient queries and liaise with other practice personnel as needed. Maintain and tidy the reception area. Provide PA/secretarial support in the absence of the GP’s PA. Process correspondence received from GPs and third parties. Summarise and input medical records into the practice's GP system. Assist patients with general enquiries. Manage paperwork distribution and courier box contents. Perform general office duties, including photocopying, dealing with post, and shredding documents. Maintain statistical records and register new patients. Job Requirements: Strong organisational and administrative skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Competence in using computerised systems (training provided). Flexibility to adjust working hours for holiday or sickness cover. Awareness of health and safety, patient confidentiality, and information governance policies.
