Back to ResultsOur client is seeking an experienced Data Manager to join its newly established Chief Data Office team. Based in Guernsey or Jersey, this role plays a key part in driving strategic and tactical data projects, ensuring effective governance, management, and utilisation of data across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing data governance strategies, managing data-related projects, and supporting business decision-making through data analysis. Job Duties: Develop and implement local data strategies aligned with global objectives. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify key data initiatives and priorities. Ensure data governance compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Manage the development and implementation of data governance tools and technologies. Work closely with various departments to understand data needs and provide insights. Investigate, research, and resolve data-related issues impacting the business. Perform data analysis to support business decision-making. Create and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). Present data findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes. Educate and raise awareness of data governance principles, policies, and procedures. Support the Information Protection team on technology and data-related matters. Job Requirements: Experience in data management, data governance, or a related technology field. Proven track record of managing data projects. Knowledge of data governance frameworks, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in data management tools, including reporting, analysis, cataloguing, and data quality tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and recommend effective solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the business. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks. Professional qualifications in data management or information system governance are desirable. Experience with software such as Microsoft Purview, Power BI, and Alteryx is beneficial.
