Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Treasury Dealer to manage the Channel Islands Repo, Money Market, and Foreign Exchange books. Based in Guernsey, this role involves overseeing day-to-day treasury operations, ensuring liquidity, managing risk exposure, and enhancing returns within regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will also assist in developing client relationships and strengthening interbank counterparties. Job Duties: Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Bank’s Repo, Money Market, and Foreign Exchange books. Place and take funds via Repo and Money Markets, ensuring appropriate liquidity at the Bank’s correspondent accounts. Enhance returns on the Bank’s funds while maintaining compliance with internal and regulatory liquidity requirements. Manage interest rate risk exposure within set limits. Assist with maintaining and controlling the Bank’s client deposit interest rate structure. Prepare and publish deposit rate sheets and provide ad-hoc client deposit rates. Provide clients with spot and forward foreign exchange rate quotations, monitor exposure, and arrange interbank market cover. Strengthen existing and develop new interbank counterparty relationships across all traded products. Offer treasury clients informed opinions on global economic issues and developments. Support the Channel Islands Treasury Head and client-facing teams in promoting the Bank’s services. Assist with reviewing and updating Treasury procedure manuals. Job Requirements: A minimum of five years’ experience in an active market trading environment, with exposure to Repo/Securities Finance, inter-bank Money Markets, and Foreign Exchange. Experience with Central Counterparty Clearing would be advantageous. Ideally ACI Diploma qualified or equivalent. Proven self-management skills within a Bank Treasury function generating significant gross profits. Strong ability to interpret and communicate market and economic data effectively. A stable and calm temperament to work accurately under pressure in active markets with high-value transactions and tight deadlines. Excellent numerical, communication, and interpersonal skills to provide clear and concise instructions and advice.
