Our client is seeking a Head of Guernsey Compliance & MLRO to join their global Risk & Compliance function on a full-time basis. This senior role will act as the primary compliance lead for all Guernsey-based entities, including a law firm and regulated providers of accounting, trust, and investment services. You will serve as both the registered MLCO and MLRO, ensuring robust financial crime risk management and regulatory adherence. The position includes leadership responsibility, regulatory reporting, and strategic compliance oversight in close collaboration with global stakeholders. Job Duties: Serve as the Head of Guernsey Compliance and fulfil the MLCO and MLRO functions. Oversee compliance for both the law firm and regulated fiduciary and investment businesses. Lead the development and execution of the Guernsey Compliance Programme in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. Provide risk-based compliance advice aligned with the organisation’s risk appetite. Deliver internal compliance training and lead financial crime prevention initiatives. Draft and present quarterly compliance reports to boards and senior management, including regulatory insights and risk analysis. Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and implement actions for upcoming changes. Collaborate with global Risk & Compliance, legal, and business service teams. Manage and develop local compliance team members, with potential for future team expansion. Promote a culture of compliance across the business and governance committees. Job Requirements: Significant experience in a senior compliance, risk, or operational control role within a regulated financial or corporate services environment. Previous experience acting as or deputising for an MLCO and/or MLRO. In-depth understanding of Guernsey’s regulatory landscape, particularly in fiduciary and investment services. Strong working knowledge of anti-financial crime legislation and frameworks. Confident communicator capable of presenting to boards and advising senior stakeholders. Skilled in regulatory change monitoring, compliance testing, and data-led reporting. Proven ability to lead and develop compliance teams.
