Our client is seeking a Finance Manager to join their team in Guernsey on a full-time basis. This is a key role within the central Finance Function, which provides high-quality, value-adding financial management services across multiple service areas. The Finance Manager will support a Senior Finance Manager and may be placed within Financial Management, Financial Reporting, or Financial Planning and Analysis, depending on business needs. This position involves delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. Job Duties: Provide key support to the Senior Finance Manager in delivering timely and accurate trial balances Complete monthly accounting adjustments and reconcile all balance sheet accounts Implement and maintain robust financial controls and pay controls Support preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial reporting Assist in developing value-add reporting such as FTE analysis, dashboards, and capital expenditure reporting Produce financial analysis and insight for both financial and operational stakeholders Contribute to internal and external audit processes Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and medium-term financial planning for assigned service areas Conduct financial modelling and contribute to business cases for capital and portfolio schemes Mentor and manage junior finance staff, promoting professional development Collaborate across finance teams to ensure consistent and accurate financial information Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the wider Finance Function Job Requirements: Experience with annual budget setting and monthly financial reporting Strong ability to analyse and present complex financial data clearly and accurately Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels Proven ability to manage workloads, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfortable using financial systems Introductory finance qualification (CAT, AAT or first-stage CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW or CIPFA) or equivalent experience at this level (required for progression) Experience in a finance role within the public sector is desirable Familiarity with SAP and prior staff management experience is advantageous Political and media awareness would be beneficial What You’ll Love:You will be joining a progressive public sector finance environment where your insight and expertise will directly influence the delivery of vital services.
