Our client is seeking a Senior Associate to join their financial services law practice in Guernsey on a permanent, full-time basis. This position offers a varied workload with a focus on banking and finance, while also encompassing corporate and commercial law, investment funds, financial services, insurance, and regulatory matters. You will play a key role in client-facing work, while also supporting strategic business development in collaboration with partners. Job Duties: Provide legal advice and manage client work across banking and finance, corporate, commercial, and regulatory sectors Coordinate and oversee client matters delegated by partners Ensure compliance with internal risk policies and procedures Deliver a high-quality, professional service to clients Supervise and delegate work to junior staff as appropriate Contribute to practice development and operational improvements Support and mentor fee earners and support staff within the department Assist partners in shaping and developing a robust departmental structure Share knowledge and experience with colleagues Contribute to and implement strategic business development plans Identify cross-selling opportunities and support new client initiatives Promote the firm’s external profile through seminars, publications and presentations Collaborate with colleagues across jurisdictions on cross-border projects Lead on a variety of internal projects and non-chargeable activities Manage personal chargeable targets, work in progress, billing, and debt recovery Educate others on key financial indicators relevant to legal practice Job Requirements: 5–6 years' PQE with qualifications from Jersey, Guernsey, the UK or another Commonwealth jurisdiction Strong technical expertise in banking and finance, with broader experience across corporate and commercial law, investment funds, financial services, insurance, and regulatory matters Previous offshore experience is advantageous but not essential Interest in or willingness to learn about Guernsey law Proven ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively Experience or motivation to contribute to business development Client-focused approach with commercial awareness and sound judgement Strong communication skills and ability to instil confidence in stakeholders A collaborative working style with a solution-oriented mindset Flexibility to support urgent transactional work outside normal hours as required Commitment to compliance, professional development, and firm values What You’ll Love:You will join a leading offshore legal practice where you will work on high-quality international transactions in a collaborative, open and professional environment.
