Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Data Analyst to join their finance division on a permanent, full-time basis. This position plays a pivotal role in delivering accurate and actionable insights to support decision-making across the business. You will be responsible for extracting, transforming, and visualising data using modern cloud-based tools and will contribute to data governance practices while working closely with stakeholders and data engineers. Job Duties: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable solutions Develop, automate, and maintain management information reports and dashboards using Microsoft Azure data tools and Power BI Analyse historical data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies Generate insights and forecasts to support key business initiatives Source all data through the centralised data platform and identify gaps to be addressed by data engineering Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility in collaboration with engineering teams Assist in implementing data governance standards and best practices Migrate existing analytics processes to Power BI and/or Azure Synapse Analytics Document processes and outputs and maintain control over changes deployed to production Communicate results and recommendations clearly to stakeholders Stay current with developments in data analytics tools, trends, and methodologies Job Requirements: Proven experience in a data analyst role, ideally within financial services Strong proficiency in SQL and Power BI or similar BI tools Experience with Microsoft Azure-based analytics tools, including Data Factory, SQL Database, and Synapse Analytics Advanced Excel skills, including the use of functions and VBA Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail Ability to communicate technical insights clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders Highly numerate, with the ability to interpret data and articulate findings as business insights Ability to self-manage projects and prioritise tasks effectively Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with a team-oriented mindset Self-motivated and proactive, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst or equivalent certification is advantageous Certifications in data governance or data management (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK) are advantageous Knowledge of Python or R is advantageous Experience in a regulated environment is beneficial What You’ll Love:This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation where innovation and continuous improvement are encouraged.
