Our client is seeking a Network Services Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week. This hands-on role is focused on the operational delivery of enterprise network and security services, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewalls, and managed network products. The successful candidate will act as the first escalation point for incidents, perform on-site and remote support, and assist with implementation, configuration, and deployment of solutions. This position also involves supporting datacentre services and contributing to internal projects, documentation, and service improvements. Job Duties: Act as first escalation point for network and security incidents Identify and resolve faults on customer devices under contract or on a time-and-materials basis Work with internal teams, customers, vendors, and third parties to meet service KPIs Conduct root cause analysis and manage problems to resolution Carry out change requests, ensuring compliance with change management policies Assist in the operational delivery of managed services including event and incident management Maintain support systems, documentation, and customer knowledge bases Support the build, deployment and maintenance of Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, and Fortinet hardware Deliver physical infrastructure tasks in the datacentre including cabling, rack builds, and remote hands Participate in technical project work and contribute to service development Peer review documentation for internal and client CABs Draft project statements of work with senior colleagues Ensure accurate and complete service ticket and risk documentation Provide mentorship and training to other staff as needed Undertake regular housekeeping and maintenance of operational systems Support onboarding and offboarding of customers into managed services Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rota Job Requirements: Cisco CCNA or comparable network certification (or willingness to obtain within one year) Experience working with IP routing and switching environments Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills Clear written and verbal communication Excellent customer service focus Methodical and detail-oriented approach Willingness to work on-site, remotely, or during holidays/weekends as required Experience supporting Cisco switching, routing, wireless, firewalls (ASA, Firepower), Meraki, Fortinet, and Ubiquiti Background in Managed Service Provider environments Experience with ITIL-based service delivery or similar operational roles ITIL Foundation (v3 or later preferred) Educated to A-level/BTEC Level 3 standard or equivalent What You’ll Love:Our client fosters a culture built around reliability, customer satisfaction, passion for technology, and team collaboration.
