Our client is seeking a Cyber Security Consultant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role involves assessing client security postures, delivering robust technical audits, and helping design and implement security strategies to mitigate risks. You will be expected to carry out assessments in line with standards such as Cyber Essentials and CIS, making this position particularly suited to someone with a strong technical background in securing networks and systems. Job Duties: Conduct security assessments, including vulnerability scans, risk analyses and penetration testing Deliver technical audits aligned with Cyber Essentials Plus requirements Develop and recommend security policies, procedures and controls Collaborate with clients to implement appropriate security solutions Monitor network activity to detect anomalies or potential threats Investigate security breaches and manage technical incident responses Implement and configure security tools and technologies, such as firewalls and SIEM Assist with risk assessments and design mitigation strategies Contribute to secure-by-design architecture reviews and projects Prepare and deliver clear documentation and reports on findings and recommendations Maintain current knowledge of cybersecurity trends, technologies and regulatory developments Job Requirements: 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles Experience delivering security projects and working with clients Familiarity with security tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls Professional certifications such as CEH, ECSA or OSCP preferred but not essential Strong understanding of network protocols and infrastructure security Familiarity with cloud security principles and technologies Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical detail clearly Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team Excellent time management, organisational skills, and accurate record keeping Willingness to occasionally work outside of regular hours when required Commitment to following internal policies, procedures, and security standards Professional, presentable and reliable, acting as a representative of the organisation both on-site and remotely Ability to maintain strong client and colleague relationships through excellent service and communication What You’ll Love:You will work in a dynamic environment where your technical expertise and consultancy skills will directly influence client outcomes.
