Our client is seeking a People Officer to join their Guernsey-based team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a key role supporting the day-to-day delivery of HR services, focusing on employee relations, engagement initiatives, and operational HR support. The successful candidate will be reliable, discreet, and calm under pressure, with a strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in HR. This position would suit someone early in their HR career, including school leavers or those with some office experience. Full support will be given to study towards the CIPD Level 3 qualification. Job Duties: Provide administrative support to the HR team and wider organisation Assist with employee engagement activities and initiatives Help maintain accurate and confidential HR records and databases Draft basic correspondence and documentation Act as a first point of contact for general HR queries, escalating where necessary Support the coordination of staff training and development programmes Ensure HR procedures and documentation are followed and kept up to date Assist with work permit administration and compliance processes Support investigations and employee relations matters as required Prepare reports, statistics and documents for monthly and quarterly review Attend and contribute to internal meetings regarding employee feedback and process improvements Job Requirements: Some previous office experience is desirable but not essential Willingness to study for the CIPD Level 3 qualification (fully supported) Strong administrative, organisational and communication skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately Calm, professional demeanour and resilience in a busy environment Good working knowledge of Office 365 A school leaver with the right attitude and commitment to remain in the role long-term will be considered Must not be seeking rapid progression – this role is suited to someone happy to grow steadily in the role What You’ll Love:Our client is committed to building a supportive and inclusive working culture where people are valued, respected, and developed.
