Our client is seeking a Compliance Head to join their Guernsey office on a full-time basis. This senior position is responsible for overseeing all compliance activities, ensuring adherence to local regulatory requirements and alignment with group-wide standards. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will act as both the Compliance Officer and the Money Laundering Compliance Officer, maintaining strong relationships with regulators, key stakeholders, and group compliance colleagues. The role also includes responsibility for managing compliance frameworks, policies, risk assessments, and monitoring plans. Job Duties: Serve as the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Compliance Officer Develop and implement a compliance strategy aligned with both local business needs and group-wide compliance objectives Act as primary contact for all regulatory bodies and manage ongoing communications and relationships Ensure compliance with Guernsey legal and regulatory requirements across business operations Provide advisory support to the business on compliance-related matters affecting systems, processes, and products Lead the development, maintenance, and regular review of internal compliance policies, procedures, and controls Monitor regulatory changes and initiate appropriate business updates or interventions Prepare regular compliance reports for the Board, Executive Committee, and delegated committees Oversee the maintenance of compliance registers and support internal and external audits Fulfil duties of Nominated Officer in the absence of the MLRO Interpret and assess business risk including annual risk assessments and outsourced arrangements Maintain and monitor the firm’s Regulatory Universe and Compliance Monitoring Plan Undertake testing and monitoring of AML, CFT, CPF and fiduciary rule compliance Ensure all regulatory reporting is completed accurately and on time Liaise with group risk functions in South Africa to coordinate group reporting and filing requirements Support and track training initiatives for all staff on Guernsey laws and group policies Conduct investigations, respond to consultations and questionnaires, and oversee compliance reviews Provide sign-off on client-facing marketing material Job Requirements: Comprehensive knowledge of Guernsey’s regulatory framework, including AML, CFT, CPF, fiduciary rules, and data privacy Minimum of five years’ experience in a compliance role within the financial services sector Relevant compliance qualifications Professional and credible manner with strong influencing skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Strong organisational abilities with discretion, resilience, and attention to detail Confident and proficient in the use of IT systems What You’ll Love:This is a key leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the compliance culture and influence strategic direction within an international financial institution.
