Our client is seeking a Head of Online Services to lead their IT Online Services team within the Risk and Operations division. This full-time, permanent role reports to the Deputy Director – Risk and Operations and is responsible for the effective delivery, functionality, and ongoing development of internal IT systems. The role supports key regulatory objectives and ensures that technology resources are aligned with strategic priorities. Job Duties: Lead and manage the IT Online Services team, ensuring the effective use of resources Oversee the functionality, availability, and ongoing maintenance of the organisation’s IT systems Deliver timely and accurate reporting to relevant managers and project stakeholders Manage workloads based on priorities set by the Development Prioritisation Committee Balance internal and contract resources to deliver approved projects and initiatives Support staff development through performance appraisals, feedback, training and coaching Maintain IT risk management processes and the IT Controls Manual Manage relationships with IT suppliers and contract staff Support internal IT audit processes and contribute to audit committee reporting Attend and add value to project boards and internal committees Contribute to budget proposals for IT expenditure and manage budgets accordingly Provide support to staff with system queries and requirements gathering Help deliver balanced scorecard metrics and contribute to strategic planning Maintain and mitigate IT risks as documented in the IT Risk Register Ensure software development adheres to best practices across all stages of the lifecycle Oversee training and communication around system changes Propose and implement process improvements in collaboration with stakeholders Communicate key decisions, risks, and updates to the team following project and strategic meetings Escalate issues in a timely manner to the Deputy Director or relevant stakeholders Stay current with industry developments, regulatory requirements, and professional training Attend grading and moderation meetings as part of the appraisal process Represent the organisation at training events, seminars, and workshops Partner with the Head of Infrastructure on enterprise architecture and IT risk/resource planning Assist with the purchasing and management of IT software and hardware assets Undertake other related duties as required by the Director or Deputy Directors Job Requirements: Proven leadership experience in IT service delivery and team management Strong understanding of software development principles and project delivery frameworks Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver projects within agreed timeframes Experience with IT risk management, supplier engagement, and budget control Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences Strong decision-making, problem-solving and coaching skills Proven ability to drive performance, manage change and influence stakeholders Up-to-date knowledge of relevant technologies and a willingness to pursue professional development Experience within a regulatory, financial, or public sector environment is desirable What You’ll Love:​​​​​​​Our client plays a vital role in upholding the financial reputation and regulatory integrity of Guernsey.
