Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic business development professional to join their Funds team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role can be based in London or the Channel Islands. The successful candidate will focus on organic growth by developing and securing new fund mandates, building strong relationships with clients and intermediaries, and driving revenue through strategic business development initiatives. The level of appointment will reflect the candidate’s experience and track record within the funds sector. Job Duties: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to secure new fund mandates and grow the client base Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities to enhance existing client relationships and revenue Build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries and represent the organisation at industry events Maintain deep knowledge of the organisation’s fund services, systems, and capabilities Manage the full sales process from prospecting and proposal through to contract negotiation and handover Identify new client segments and markets, driving business development in these areas Conduct market research to identify target clients and tailor strategies accordingly Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform sales strategies Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure integrated client management and delivery of tailored solutions Maintain long-term client relationships through exceptional service and understanding of client needs Job Requirements: 7–10 years’ relevant experience in the funds industry, with a proven track record at senior manager level or above Strong ability to build client and intermediary relationships, with a reputation that encourages client loyalty Deep understanding of fund structuring, private capital strategies (PE, VC, Debt, RE), and jurisdictional considerations Demonstrated success in winning new mandates and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets Innovative thinker with a proactive, commercial approach to business development Well-established network across the funds sector, including intermediaries and stakeholders Experience working across multiple jurisdictions (e.g. Jersey, Guernsey, Ireland, Luxembourg) is advantageous Background in fund management, investor relations, M&A, consultancy, or audit is desirable Proven ability to sell professional services to senior stakeholders, including CFOs and CEOs Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Professional qualification (e.g. chartered accountant) or relevant business/economics degree preferred What You’ll Love:Our client is a leading and award-winning provider of private wealth, fund, and corporate services.
