Our client is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join their team in Guernsey. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of active Venture Capital funds. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while ensuring that all client deliverables, including accounts and quarterly/monthly reporting, are prepared in accordance with agreed deadlines and internal policies. The Senior Fund Accountant will work closely with clients, auditors, and other third parties to ensure smooth operations.Job Duties: Act as a key point of contact for clients, auditors, and third parties. Manage a portfolio of venture capital funds, ensuring all deadlines (both internal and external) are met. Prepare bank reconciliations, bookkeeping of transactions, and calculations for calls and distributions. Maintain accurate financial records on Investran and Acumen, ensuring information is up to date. Prepare carried interest calculations, management fees, investment schedules, management accounts, and regulatory reports. Ensure timely preparation of annual audited accounts in accordance with IFRS/FRS102 and escalate issues to the Fund Accounting Manager when required. Respond to investor and client queries and review responses from junior team members. Ensure all regulatory and statutory filings are completed on time and prepare required documentation for HFL and General Partner Board Meetings. Liaise with tax advisors to ensure timely preparation of annual tax reporting and manage investor communications. Review tasks completed by junior team members and ensure external communications are accurate. Job Requirements Hold or be studying for a recognised professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA). A minimum of 3 years of relevant finance experience. Strong understanding of fund documentation, GFSC regulations, and applicable laws such as the Protection of Investors law and anti-money laundering regulations. Ability to interpret financial data and maintain accurate records in fund accounting software such as Investran and Acumen. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and colleagues. Strong numeracy skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
