Our client is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director for their Tax department. This full-time role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with tax reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions. As a key player in the central services team, you will work closely with senior management to develop and implement tax policies, delivering exceptional support to clients and fostering a culture of openness and teamwork. Your expertise in tax compliance will ensure the organisation’s entities adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, facilitating smooth business operations. Job Duties: Set goals for the tax function that align with the overall Group strategy, maintaining high-quality specialised support. Collaborate with Directors/Relations Partners across various jurisdictions to establish fees and billing responsibilities, ensuring the profitability of the Tax function. Provide practical expertise and develop recommendations for improvements within tax procedures. Oversee the preparation of annual tax returns and other tax reporting requirements in the UK, Guernsey, Jersey, IOM, and BVI for companies and trusts, including VAT and ATED. Manage tax audits and inquiries with authorities, minimising financial and reputational risks. Lead and develop the tax team, providing guidance to foster high performance. Deliver tax training and support to staff, ensuring awareness of legislative changes. Collaborate with other departments to provide tax-related support for business operations and transactions. Develop and implement internal tax policies and procedures, ensuring continuous improvement aligned with best practices. Job Requirements: Educated to degree standard or possess equivalent experience. Professional qualification such as a CTA is required. A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in tax compliance, including leadership experience. Essential experience in UK company and trust tax compliance. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences. Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to promote organisational culture and values. Deep knowledge of tax legislation and best practice standards that affect client servicing. Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Capable of managing multiple workstreams while meeting tight deadlines. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing tax documents.
