Our client is seeking a dedicated Systems Support Engineer to join their team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and support of internal applications, IT infrastructure, and cloud services. The position may require working outside of normal hours, including unsociable hours, with compensation included in the remuneration package. The majority of staff are located in the Guernsey office, but the organisation also embraces fully remote work across Europe and the UAE. Job Duties: Provide user and server level 2 system support and troubleshooting to resolve various issues, liaising with internal teams and external contractors as required. Deliver project support and expertise for various company initiatives from inception through to implementation. Support corporate web-based applications and servers, working closely with external contractors when necessary. Offer user and back-end application support for a variety of desktop, server, printing, and cloud services. Perform server maintenance and support for live server and web environments. Support the patching of servers and desktops, following up on any issues that arise. Assist in the preparation and conduct of business continuity testing. Job Requirements: 3-5 years’ experience in a helpdesk or equivalent role. 3-5 years of knowledge in application support and server management. Good knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, applications, and cloud technologies is essential. Working knowledge of server virtualisation, with experience using VMware products in a multi-host environment. Some programming experience is desirable (PowerShell, C#, ASP.NET, MVC Framework, HTML, CSS, Git). Good understanding of SQL and database structures. Familiarity with Citrix technologies and application deployment. Understanding of financial software (NavOne) and payment systems is beneficial. Experience with the Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organisational levels. Methodical, conscientious, and organised, with the capacity to deliver high standards. Ability to meet deadlines and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Capable of working with minimal supervision after initial training. Strong IT skills and a broad technical knowledge.
