Our client is seeking a motivated and diligent Tax Trainee for the 2025 intake. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to assist the Tax team with the preparation of personal, company, and trust tax returns, while ensuring that a high standard of work is maintained. The role provides a platform for professional growth and the chance to contribute effectively to client service within an ethical and professional framework. Job Duties: Assist in the preparation of personal, company, and trust tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions to meet deadlines. Handle correspondence via letter, email, and telephone, maintaining clear communication with clients and stakeholders. Thoroughly prepare supporting schedules by analysing backing documentation and identifying any discrepancies or issues. Check assessments, statements of account, and surcharge notices for accuracy, flagging any anomalies that require attention. Liaise efficiently with tax and social security authorities, responding promptly to queries and enhancing knowledge over time to manage more complex issues. Develop a solid understanding of the firm’s services and clientele to support client retention and growth. Act as an ambassador for the firm, building relationships and creating opportunities for new business. Pursue a relevant professional qualification in accordance with a signed training agreement. Job Requirements: Highly PC literate with proficient knowledge of Windows software and Microsoft 365. Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills. A collaborative team player with the confidence to handle individual tasks effectively. Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, complemented by a flexible and proactive attitude. Strong analytical skills, with the capacity to scrutinise data from various sources. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable engaging with individuals at all levels. Committed to providing excellent client service and applying technical knowledge gained through studies. School leavers should have 112 UCAS points or equivalent; graduates should possess a degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent. Willingness to undertake studies towards a relevant professional qualification. 1-2 years of experience in accountancy, tax, or office administration is desirable but not essential. A commitment to professional and personal development through relevant qualifications.
