Back to ResultsOur client is seeking a Ground Training Manager to work in Guernsey, predominantly from Monday to Friday, 0900 to 1730, with a one-hour lunch break. Flexibility to work weekends is required when the business necessitates training. The role involves designing and delivering training in accordance with the client's procedures and external governing bodies, under the supervision of the Head of Ground Operations. The successful candidate will have experience in a training environment and hold a recognised training qualification to deliver airside training. Job Duties: Design and deliver training in agreement with the Head of Ground Operations Deliver training to off-island locations as required by the business Identify changes to legislation and update training accordingly Maintain, review, and manage training records regularly Use and operate all communication and computer systems available Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in compliance with ramp procedures Understand and initiate action regarding mishandled or damaged baggage or other payloads Demonstrate knowledge of company procedures concerning aircraft handling and dispatch, particularly specific aircraft restrictions as outlined in various Aircraft Handling Manuals Collaborate with Station Managers to understand changing business needs Liaise with other carriers and airport authorities as necessary Discuss training issues with Operational & Senior Managers and set monthly training plans and employee focus lists Produce monthly training reports Prepare, tailor and facilitate training programmes, from new employee orientation to annual refreshers (including health & safety, customer service, standards training, and technical on-the-job training) Conduct audits to identify standards and training gaps Travel at short notice, sometimes for extended periods Cover shifts when operations are short, as required Hold weekly training meetings Stay current on Dangerous Goods Regulations Ensure company materials and relevant manuals are up to date Maintain IATA Dangerous Goods manuals, including regulations, workbooks, and Table 2.3.A or equivalent Serve as a contact point for questions related to Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Air for the CAA and internal staff Support other areas of the business in training needs Job Requirements: Well-organised with strong attention to detail Qualified to provide training (PTLLS Level required/Level 3 Award in Education) Proactive approach to responsibilities with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines Excellent understanding of PC innovation to develop training programmes Ability to identify and address challenges promptly and efficiently Demonstrates self-motivation and professionalism, with readiness to take on additional responsibilities Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Flexible regarding working hours as necessary Capability to implement and adapt to change Strong presentation skills Calm demeanour with the ability to manage inquiries in a pressurised environment Proactively review and think critically about new policies and procedures Proficient in office software, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Self-motivated with the ability to meet strict deadlines Problem-solving skills and initiative to ensure effective running of the training department Qualified or in the process of acquiring a CMI qualification in Management and Leadership What You’ll Love:This role offers the chance to play a key part in maintaining and enhancing the jurisdiction’s reputation.
