Our client is looking for a Senior Manager for a special project within the Client Accounting team on a 9-month contract. This transformational role aims to drive the maturity of the control and governance framework while enhancing Management Information (MI) capabilities. The successful candidate will lead initiatives across both the Pension and Trust businesses, ensuring consistency, transparency, and best-in-class standards in KPIs, processes, workflows, checklists, and system configurations. The post holder will report to the Finance Operations Manager. Job Duties: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing KPIs, processes, workflows, and checklists for the Pension Client Accounting Framework. Document current MI reporting, identify gaps, and propose enhancements. Design and implement new dashboards and MI pack templates to track accuracy, timeliness, and control metrics. Identify billable time and advise on justifiable reasons to increase charges during cost to serve reviews. Define standardised KPIs, controls, workflows, and checklists for the Trust Client Accounting Best Practices. Benchmark against industry standards and embed leading-practice governance. Roll out training, guidance notes, and ongoing QA reviews. Evaluate current systems (Acumen, Salesforce, etc.) and Chart of Accounts configurations. Collaborate with the Head of IT, Business Change Management, and vendors to optimise functionality and strengthen data integrity. Recommend new tools or modules where gaps exist and support the implementation roadmaps. Quantify outstanding fiduciary responsibility gaps across corporate client accounts and develop a phased remediation plan. Assess remediation needs specific to pension client accounting and define the scope, timeline, and resource requirements. Act as a subject-matter expert for the senior Client Accounting team, delivering training, workshops, and mentoring. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing insights, lessons learned, and industry updates. Support all staff in adopting and working with Finance policies and assist the Finance team as required. Build excellent working relationships with colleagues, clients, and business partners. Job Requirements: Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent with 10+ years in client accounting. Deep understanding of pension and trust accounting, fiduciary responsibilities, and governance frameworks. Proven track record in defining and implementing Client Accounting MI frameworks and process controls. Hands-on experience with Acumen or similar systems. Strong management skills and ability to coordinate cross-functional remediation efforts. Excellent communicator and influencer, capable of building buy-in at all levels and team mentoring.
