Back to ResultsOur client is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join their Guernsey-licensed and regulated fiduciary company. This is a full-time office-based role, pivotal in overseeing the firm's compliance framework. The successful candidate will manage statutory positions as the Compliance Officer, Money Laundering Compliance Officer, and Money Laundering Reporting Officer. As the primary point of contact with the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, this role involves leading regulatory compliance efforts, preventing financial crime, and ensuring data protection. The Compliance Manager will also oversee a small compliance team, liaising with various stakeholders, including the Board. An understanding of evolving regulatory requirements is crucial as the role entails maintaining up-to-date compliance documentation. Additionally, the Compliance Manager will be responsible for preparing compliance reports and implementing robust policies and procedures to align with regulatory expectations. Job Duties: Advise and support the Board on Compliance and risk management matters. Maintain and update all core company compliance documentation, including the Business Risk Assessment and Compliance Monitoring Programme. Implement and oversee the Compliance Monitoring Programme, coordinating with external compliance consultants and reporting on findings. Prepare quarterly compliance reports for the Board, ensuring timely completion of action points arising from these reports. Submit required notifications, consent applications, and consultation responses to the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. Prepare and submit regular regulatory reports, including the Annual Return and Financial Crime Risk Return. Coordinate the delivery of AML/CFT/CPF training for staff, particularly focusing on enhanced training for senior employees. Act as a key liaison with the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, ensuring timely internal communication of regulatory updates. Manage the Moody’s system, overseeing user access and the timely processing of all screening reports. Maintain all internal registers and oversee compliance with relevant regulatory registrations by staff. Ensure implementation of business continuity measures in relevant scenarios. Act as compliance signatory in accordance with internal policies. Line management responsibilities for two compliance team members. Fulfil statutory responsibilities of the Money Laundering Reporting Officer, including assessing and documenting Suspicious Activity Reports. Oversee the firm’s data protection obligations and act as the primary contact for data protection issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Job Requirements: In-depth and practical knowledge of the Guernsey regulatory framework, especially the Handbook on Countering Financial Crime (AML/CFT/CPF). Proven experience in a similar role within a Guernsey-licensed and regulated fiduciary or funds business. Strong understanding of compliance, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist and proliferation financing, and data protection requirements. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with the Board and regulators. Familiarity with electronic screening systems, particularly Moody’s. Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organised with a strong sense of ethics and integrity. Capable of working independently and making sound risk-based decisions. Commitment to fostering a strong compliance culture within the organisation.
