Back to ResultsOur client is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to safeguard their computer networks and systems from cyber threats and unauthorised access. The role involves monitoring networks, detecting security threats, analysing alarms, and reporting on various incidents. The successful candidate will possess technical skills in cybersecurity, as well as strong analytical and communication abilities, enabling them to effectively manage pressure situations and restore system operations. Job Duties: Monitor and detect threats by observing network traffic and system activity for signs of security breaches or suspicious behaviour, utilising Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems. Respond to incidents as the first responder, investigating breaches, mitigating damage, and recovering affected systems. Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications. Keep abreast of the latest security developments and research emerging cyber security threats and vulnerabilities. Plan for disaster recovery and assist in creating contingency plans for security breaches. Test and evaluate security products and verify supplier compliance and accreditation. Design new security systems or upgrade existing ones based on findings. Engage in simulating security breaches to identify potential weaknesses and implement protective measures such as firewalls and encryption. Investigate security alerts, employing incident handling methodologies and best practices. Monitor identity and access management for abuse of permissions and liaise with stakeholders regarding cyber security issues. Job Requirements: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in incident response processes and the use of SIEM tools is essential. Experience in security tools, IT networking, and key technical skills, including operating systems and digital forensics, is required. A solid understanding of Microsoft Azure and MS 365 cloud technologies is necessary. A Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or IT is desirable. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), or ISACA Certified Cybersecurity Operations Analyst (CCOA) are preferred. Ability to work effectively under pressure during security incidents and demonstrate strong analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
