Our client is seeking a highly capable Full Stack Developer to design, build, and scale core technology systems for an insurance business. This role is central to the development of data-driven and AI-enabled platforms that support autonomous underwriting, policy administration, and risk analysis. The successful candidate will take ownership of backend architecture, database design, and API integrations, while also contributing to frontend applications used by underwriters, operations, and leadership. The ideal individual combines strong engineering fundamentals with curiosity about automation, data, and applied AI in a regulated insurance environment. The successful applicant will be pivotal in enhancing the technology landscape of the business and maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance throughout. Job Duties: Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems supporting underwriting, policy lifecycle management, claims, and risk data. Architect and manage relational SQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server), including schema design, indexing, performance tuning, and data integrity. Implement robust data pipelines to ingest, normalise, and store internal and third-party data sources (e.g. valuation data, risk data, geospatial data). Embed API-driven AI and ML tools into underwriting workflows to support automated risk assessment, pricing recommendations, and decision-making. Integrate large language models (LLMs) and other AI services for automated submission triage, risk summarisation and scoring, and policy wording generation and validation. Design and maintain secure internal and external APIs (REST / GraphQL) for underwriting, pricing, document handling, and third-party integrations. Develop and maintain modern, intuitive frontend applications for underwriters and operational teams. Write clean, well-documented, and well-tested code; implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. Job Requirements: Strong experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role. Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational database design. Solid backend development experience (e.g. Python, Node.js, Java, or similar). Frontend experience with modern frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, or Angular). Experience designing and consuming APIs (REST, GraphQL). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Practical experience integrating AI/ML or LLM-based services via APIs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working in a regulated or data-sensitive environment.
