Our Board plays a vital role in setting our vision, overseeing our work, and ensuring we continue to grow and

thrive.The Chair will lead the Board in driving our strategic direction, making informed and inclusive decisions, and

championing our values. They will help shape a culture of openness and accountability, while building positive,

respectful relationships with staff, volunteers, trainees and stakeholders. As our ambassador, the Chair will also

represent GO externally — building strong relationships with partners, funders, politicians and stakeholders

to raise our profile and strengthen our influence. We’re looking for someone with proven leadership, excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to social inclusion to help us continue delivering life‑changing opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and delivery of GO’s vision and strategic direction
• Provide leadership to the Board and ensure effective governance
• Support and challenge the executive team, overseeing performance and finances
• Represent GO externally and promote its mission

Requirements:

• Capacity to dedicate approximately 20–25 days per year
• Commitment to social inclusion and the mission of GO
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work closely with executive management and the Board
• Initial 3-year term, with the possibility of up to two further 3- year terms
• Voluntary, pro bono role with reimbursement of reasonable expenses
