Our client is seeking an individual with strong interpersonal skills who enjoys variety in their working day to join the team as a Facilities Officer on a permanent part-time basis. This role involves providing local facilities support for the Guernsey office, with flexible hours under the direction of the Head of Facilities. Working hours are from 08:00–11:00, Monday to Friday. Key duties include managing day-to-day facilities requests, maintaining kitchen and general areas, and overseeing office supplies and deliveries. The successful candidate will assist with maintenance tasks, health and safety compliance, and support facilities-related projects. This position also entails acting as the main emergency key holder, creating draft risk assessments, and contributing to policy documents as required. The selected individual will play an essential role in ensuring a clean and safe working environment for all employees. Additionally, the role may adapt based on space and occupancy requirements. Job Duties: Manage day-to-day facilities requests via helpdesk Maintain kitchen and general areas, including daily cleaning of coffee machines Handle deliveries into the local office Maintain office stocks and liaise with suppliers Collect mail from the Post Office, open, and distribute Deliver outgoing mail to the Post Office and complete PPI book Assist IT with equipment handling Control and maintenance of all keys, including lockers Supervise confidential waste disposal and archiving Assist with daily access control for staff, visitors, and contractors Support functions and departments with on- and off-site events Load and process invoices Monitor and liaise with contractors, ensuring service quality and value for money Support delivery of planned preventative maintenance and provide out-of-hours supervision as needed Assist with facilities-related projects, including refurbishments and equipment upgrades Undertake general maintenance tasks within skill set Support writing and reviewing of policy documents Serve as the main emergency key holder and out-of-hours contact Create draft risk assessments and contribute to policy compliance reviews Organise first aid and fire marshal training, acting as lead fire marshal Support the organisation in meeting its environmental commitments Provide cover for team members during leave periods Undertake other duties reasonably expected within the role's scope Job Requirements: Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and requests effectively Experience in facilities management or a similar role Basic maintenance skills within personal capability Awareness of health and safety regulations and practices Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing requirements What You’ll Love:​​​​​​​This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in maintaining a clean and safe working environment while being an integral support for team operations.
