Our client is seeking a driven and talented individual to join their dedicated and professional team as an Assistant Fund Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing accounting and financial reporting services for both established and new real estate and private equity funds, as well as special purpose vehicles. Key duties will include becoming familiar with the client’s policies and procedures, developing a robust understanding of client activities, structures, and material agreements. You will build and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients and external parties, actively monitor client mailboxes to identify priority tasks, and assist senior leaders with the onboarding of new business. The role also involves overseeing junior team members' workloads while providing regular coaching, preparing financial reports at both the asset and fund level, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and statutory reporting deadlines. The successful candidate will prepare and review management accounts and financial statements and assist in the planning of year-end audits. Job Duties: Become familiar with the client’s policies and procedures. Gain a strong understanding of client activities, structures, and material agreements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and external parties. Actively monitor client mailboxes and identify priority tasks. Work effectively with senior leaders to facilitate the onboarding of new business. Monitor junior team members' workloads and provide regular coaching. Prepare financial reports at both the asset and fund level, including supporting files and reviewing work by junior team members. Compile and analyse financial information for financial statements. Ensure all regulatory and statutory reporting deadlines and filings are met. Prepare and review interim management accounts and financial statements. Handle bank debt covenant reporting, monthly/quarterly NAVs, VAT reporting, and cashflow forecasting. Prepare investor capital account statements and fund-level reporting. Plan year-end audits, including collating and reviewing audit files. Prepare and review distribution and drawdown calculations and notices. Undertake any ad-hoc duties as requested. Job Requirements: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting or an audit position. Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant accounting standards. Progress in ACA, ACCA, or CIMA studies is preferred. A commercial and technically minded individual motivated to provide operational solutions.
