Back to ResultsThis role involves overseeing the financial crime supervision of a diverse array of businesses that are licensed or registered within the jurisdiction. The Assistant Director will ensure that high-quality prudential, financial crime, and conduct regulation is delivered. The position calls for a proactive approach to managing firms that present a higher risk of financial crime, alongside conducting on-site assessments and thematic reviews. The role is full-time and is set to commence in June 2026. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders, including firms and regulatory bodies, to develop effective supervisory frameworks. There will also be opportunities to engage with industry representatives in consultations regarding regulatory changes. The Assistant Director will be integral in analysing data submitted by firms, identifying risk areas, and helping to enhance the jurisdiction's regulatory environment. Training in relevant areas will be encouraged to support career progression. Job Duties: Ensure the delivery of high-quality prudential and financial crime regulation within the jurisdiction. Assist in protecting and enhancing international reputation within the financial services sector. Implement the Balanced Scorecard and facilitate innovation while discouraging poor quality ventures. Assist with the operation of the Division and oversee functional team activities, ensuring high quality of work. Lead event-driven supervision, identifying findings and trends from financial crime risk returns completed by firms. Review inspection scopes and post-inspection reports, ensuring actions are proportionate and focused on outcomes. Analyse data collected on firms to understand and enhance management information relating to financial crime risks. Assess supervisory trends and themes, and assist in the development of policies to meet international standards. Communicate in an accurate, clear, and concise manner, tailoring information to various audiences. Represent the entity at meetings and workshops, conducting training for local businesses and their advisers. Oversee the Data Analysis and Returns team, ensuring responsibility for data analysis and residual risk ratings. Highlight cases requiring supervisory interventions to senior management. Job Requirements: Significant experience in a financial services or related environment, with knowledge of the regulatory framework. Proficient in data analysis, report production, and regulatory decision-making. Strong communication skills, capable of delivering presentations and training effectively. Ability to lead teams and influence staff development. Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation processes, particularly concerning financial crime. Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping abreast of industry developments. Capacity for strategic thinking, enabling the formulation of effective business plans.
