Our client, an established organisation in the dental sector, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Dental Nurse or Trainee Dental Nurse to join their team in Guernsey. This is a full-time position with working hours from Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 6 pm, and Friday from 8 am to 2 pm, with the possibility of some Saturday half-days if desired. The role not only involves engagement with patients but also provides full support in obtaining your National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) qualifications, along with a flexible study agreement. JOB DUTIES: Prepare and tidy the surgery for treatments. Anticipate and prepare instruments required for procedures. Clean and sterilise dental instruments. Pass instruments to the Dentist as instructed. Maintain sterile conditions within the surgery following Health & Safety guidelines. Ensure patient comfort and ease during their visits. Assist the Dentist in recording patient information accurately. Conduct stock control, including managing replacement components. Maintain cleanliness in the laboratory and kitchen area. Perform occasional reception duties, such as answering phones and booking in patients, to support the smooth operation of the practice. Make dental models in the laboratory, with full training provided. Prepare refreshments for the Dentist and staff when needed. JOB REQUIREMENTS: A Dental Nurse Qualification is desirable but not essential. Unqualified applicants must be willing to undertake training for the Diploma in Dental Nursing within two years, with full support and time allocated for learning and study during work hours. A willingness to learn and develop new skills is essential. Good communication skills, some level of IT literacy, and a positive attitude towards patient care are required. Ability to work collaboratively within a friendly team and support colleagues to ensure appointments run smoothly. Capability to work efficiently, including under pressure, to maintain a high standard of patient care at all times. Desirable: Strong interest and enthusiasm for the role, suitable for both extroverted and quieter individuals.
