Our client has an opening for a full-time Medical Secretary based in Guernsey. This role involves providing essential support to General Practitioners, ensuring smooth operational processes within the surgery. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in liaising with patients and medical professionals, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care while gaining valuable experience in medical administration. Job Duties: Providing secretarial services to General Practitioners within the practice. Liaising with patients and other medical professionals, and managing correspondence from GPs and third parties. Scanning, workflow, and coding of documents onto the Medical GP System. Inputting surgery clinics, holidays, and visits into the Medical GP system. Covering for other doctors during periods of annual leave or sickness. Dealing with requests for patient home visits and managing the appointments system. Making appointments through the computerised Medical GP system. Completing necessary patient certificates, e.g., sickness certificates and travel forms. Liaising with insurance companies regarding patient matters. Processing prescription requests from patients and determining if consultations with GPs are necessary. Updating patient databases and typing of referral letters as needed. Undertaking various office duties as required by the Practice Manager and Management Team. Complying with confidentiality, security, and information governance policies. Job Requirements: Ability to work as part of a team, being accountable to the Practice Manager and Partners. Good organisational and communication skills. Proficient in using computer systems, particularly the Medical GP system. Compliance with all organisational policies and procedures.
