The Technical Underwriting Lead will hold the highest underwriting authority, ensuring decisions align with delegated authority agreements and support profitable growth. Key activities include underwriting complex risks, acting as an escalation point, and developing underwriting, product, and pricing frameworks. The role also involves managing delegated authority, liaising with capacity providers, supporting audits, reviewing policy wordings, and providing technical guidance and training to colleagues.
Candidates should have strong underwriting experience, solid technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with compliance frameworks. Professional qualifications, product development experience, and leadership capability are desirable.
