Our client is seeking to appoint a Risk & Compliance Manager to join their Risk & Compliance team. This pivotal role is designed for an individual with a strong background in risk and compliance, aiming to foster a culture of integrity and regulatory awareness across the organisation. The role will involve working closely with service lines to develop and maintain a robust risk and compliance framework, ensuring it evolves with the business needs. The successful candidate will provide practical advice to partners, directors, and various service lines, assisting in compliance initiatives and regulatory analysis. This position promotes direct engagement with various stakeholders and will require a confident and proactive individual. This is a full-time role, with expectations of a commitment to high professional standards. Job Duties: Assist the Risk & Compliance team and the Enterprise Risk Management Committee in embedding a risk and compliance focused culture. Aid in developing and maintaining an awareness of risk, compliance, and regulatory issues throughout the organisation. Establish and maintain the firm’s strategic risk registers. Provide effective, business-focused risk and compliance advice to partners, directors, and service lines. Analyse laws and regulations to identify key changes, assessing their impact and advising on appropriate actions. Maintain, review, and update all risk and compliance policies and procedures at least annually. Develop and deliver technical compliance training. Prepare monthly Enterprise Risk Management meeting packs as required. Identify improvements to the Compliance Monitoring Programme, undertake relevant monitoring tasks, and produce comprehensive reports. Maintain regulatory registers on behalf of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee. Lead projects to enhance the standardisation of policies, procedures, and forms. Manage ad-hoc project work as required. Review and action all sanctions and relevant notices appropriately. Ensure the Compliance mailbox is managed efficiently and in a timely manner. Act as Line Manager for the Risk & Compliance administrators. Job Requirements: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage with individuals at all levels. Ability to collaborate with the business to achieve goals within regulatory frameworks. Commercially minded and resilient in decision-making processes. High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong problem-solving abilities. Effective time management and organisational skills, with a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset. Capability to work independently while maintaining professional standards to mitigate risk. Proactive individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks calmly under pressure. At least 5 years of relevant work experience with a solid understanding of both Jersey and Guernsey regulatory requirements. Holds an ICA or equivalent professional qualification.
